Public Policy Advisor

About the Role The Public Policy Advisor provides substantive support to the firm's Congressional Investigations practice to monitor and analyze congressional developments, industry trends, and current events that impact clients. The Advisor engages in a variety of client billable and non-billable work, maintaining a high standard of client service across all responsibilities. Key Responsibilities - Maintain a working knowledge of the legislative process on Capitol Hill and key relationships as needed. Track congressional oversight activities, pending legislation, industry trends, and current events that impact clients and prospective clients. - Attend and summarize congressional hearings. - Conduct extensive, in-depth and time-sensitive research and package findings. - Draft client-facing talking points, briefings, client alerts, letters, and other memoranda. - Produce daily and weekly updates highlighting congressional oversight, media coverage, and other client-relevant developments for the practice group. - Coordinate and/or attend meetings for and with members of the Congressional Investigations team (and other practices), clients, and with members of Congress and/or their staff. - Assist with client development, including conducting research and working with business development on presentations and proposals.
